Victor Ortuño

PhD in Motivation and Personality Psychology from the University of Coimbra in 2014 with the thesis Time Perspective Stability: Studies with an Multidimensional Model in the University Context. He obtained a Doctoral Scholarship from the Fundação para a Ciencia ea Técnología (FCT).

He is currently an Adjunct Professor (Grade 3) with full dedication at the Faculty of Psychology of the University of the Republic (UdelaR) where he is a member of the Data Science and Psychometrics program and is a member of the National System of Researchers (SNI) in the initiation category. He is currently a member of the Board of Directors of the Institute of Fundamentals and Methods in Psychology.

His teaching focuses on the areas of Psychometrics, Data Analysis, Research Methodology and Subjective Temporality. He has been a visiting professor at the University of Algarve, the University of Coimbra, the University of Lisbon, the Catholic University of Uruguay and the University of Cuyo.

His research currently focuses on the projects “Adaptation to Uruguay of the Future Anxiety Scale” and “Vocational Congruence and Academic Success at UdelaR”.

His research interests are: Subjective Temporality, Motivation, Personality, Vocational Behavior and Psychometrics.

He has various publications, among which the books “International Studies on Time Perspective” and “Psychology of Time: An introduction to temporality in the behavioral sciences” stand out. He was coordinator of the Organizing Commission of the Ist International Conference on Time Perspective.
