The researcher graduated from the Faculty of Medicine of the University of the Republic (UdelaR) in Uruguay in 1989, obtaining her degree of Doctor of Medicine, in 1990 she obtained a Master's degree in Biological Sciences with an Option in Neurosciences and in In 2002 he obtained his doctorate in Biological Sciences, both in the Basic Sciences Development Program (PEDECIBA) of the University of the Republic in Uruguay.

He currently works in behavioral neurosciences at the Faculty of Sciences of Udelar and is a member of the National Academy of Sciences of Uruguay.
